DOGFIGHT

This is the first game I have created with GameMaker.

The game is 2-player only. No computer AI has been created.
The goal of the game is to shoot your opponent to pieces more times than he/she does to you.
Finally managed to get version 1.1 done for the GM competition! It ended up in the "Best of the Rest" section! Hooray!

All graphics, except for the explosion, are created by me. Mostly using POVRay.
Sounds are from the sound collection bundled with GameMaker 4.1.

Instructions:

Use the following keys:

Player 1:
Up arrow: Accelerate
Left / Right arrows: Turn left / right
Space: Fire / Detonate, depending on current weapon state
M: Select weapon

Player 2:
W: Accelerate
A / D: Turn left / right
Ctrl (left): Fire / Detonate, depending on current weapon state
Q: Select weapon

When playing via LAN or the internet, player 2 has the same controls as player 1.

There are 4 weapons available.
1. The standard plasma bolt. Does only damage opponent's ship.
2. The nuclear container bomb. Detonation needed. Will damage anything within it's working radius...
3. The seeking rocket. If fired upon, try to trick it into hitting your opponent back. It is possible! :)

4. The rammer. When this is attached to your ship for a few seconds, you can ram your opponent. Damage is based on relative collision speed.

There is no end to the game. Keep fighting till you all fall victims for the Qwertity's disease (which is caused by falling asleep on the keyboard and thus suffering from keys imprinted in your face).
